How Can sharp Upper Back Pain Be Treated?

Hello, I want to ask you a question. Its about my daughter, she is 16. She came home early from school with some fever, not feeling well. Later this afternoon, she had a snack with pretzels and cereal. She is having some sharp pains in her upper back currently. She feels like she needs to burp, and has been able to some. The pain is still really bothering her. Could it be just some indigestion?

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..

I personally do not think it is related with her indigestion , i hope she feels better soon , upper back pain could be due to a muscular sprain or spasm .
She may use painkillers like advil ( NSAIDs ) tabs when needed , hot massages with topical anti-inflammatory gels , muscle relaxants , B12 vitamin supplements will be more than enough for her case .
If pain persists i recommend she visit her physician for proper evaluation and management.
